I don't know why the Redirect URI configuration didn't work yesterday.
When I tried to use
http://localhost:8080/* today, it worked. Maybe
there is a TTL based cache for the client that wasn't invalidated
properly after I deleted the client?
After many hours of trial and error I finally found a configuration that
works. Apparently, the configuration "Master SAML Processing URL" is
required for the authentication to work, which begs the question, why
isn't the field required in the UI or has a default to "Root URL + /saml" ?

configurations,setup etc with yours. That can show the difference why
they work when yours doesn't work.
