To help illustrate my previous comment, here is some example SQL generated from a criteria using sub-selects (on T_METER_PROPS) instead of multiple joins.
{code}
select
this_.*
from
T_METER this_
where
exists (
select
p_.F_MP_FK_M_ID as y0_
from
T_METER_PROPS p_
where
p_.F_MP_FK_M_ID=this_.F_M_ID
and p_.F_MP_FK_AP_ID=?
and p_.F_MP_VALUE=?
)
or exists (
select
p_.F_MP_FK_M_ID as y0_
from
T_METER_PROPS p_
where
p_.F_MP_FK_M_ID=this_.F_M_ID
and p_.F_MP_FK_AP_ID=?
and p_.F_MP_VALUE=?
)

Remove build cycle and duplicate classes from hibernate-search-testing module
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HSEARCH-635
URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HSEARCH-635
Project: Hibernate Search
Issue Type: Bug
Components: build
Affects Versions: 3.3.0.CR1
Reporter: Sanne Grinovero
Assignee: Sanne Grinovero
Fix For: 3.3.0
The hibernate-search-testing module is unusable on Eclipse development, and we have code duplication.
Also some classes since the duplication are not consistent, a bug was fixed on the module but not in the main testsuite (including fix here, not affecting anything in main classes)

Scott Haynie commented on HHH-879:
----------------------------------
I have a similar problem. The above wrapper is a good workaround combining criterions for one association path, but doesn't help for "self-joins". I want my query to be something like:
select *
from TableA a
left join TableB b on a.ID=b.A_ID
left join TableB b2 on a.ID=b2.A_ID
where b.col='oneval' and b2.col='anotherval'
Still can't find a way to reproduce this type of query using the Criteria API.

Cache.evictQueryRegions() not working
-------------------------------------
Key: HHH-5738
URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-5738
Project: Hibernate Core
Issue Type: Bug
Components: caching (L2), core
Affects Versions: 3.5.6
Environment: Hibernate 3.5.6-Final , hibernate-jpa-2.0 , ehcache-1.5.0 , Spring-3.0.4 , MySQL
Reporter: Smallufo Huang
I found cache.evictQueryRegions() not work at all , all data in cache regions remains unchanged.
I have to manually give each query cache a name (cache region) , and specify which cache region to evict by cache.evictQueryRegion("foobar") , so that hibernate will reload the data.

Support for subselect (subquery) in from clause
-----------------------------------------------
Key: HHH-3356
URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3356
Project: Hibernate3
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: query-hql
Reporter: Geoffrey De Smet
Many databases support subselects in the from clause, for example:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/unnamed-views.html
And it's very handy.
Native query's are sometimes a working workaround, but have many disadvantages, unlike HQL.
Btw, I've searched through jira for over 20 minutes and didn't find an issue for this already. If there is one already, please give it a better title or link it to this issue :)
