Yes, the OAuth2 spec provides the client credentials grant for this, see
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6749#section-4.4.
We're planning on intruding support for this as well as the ability to authenticate
clients with certificates and signed JWTs.

I was just curious to know if there is a way to have an unattended session
using OAuth, like CLI sessions, without prompting for the credentials
(username/password)?
This is just a general OAuth related question. I just wanted to know if
