) I’m fairly certain that this issue has already been fixed, but from what i can tell it has not been released yet. We’re about to release 6.2.6, and it should be included in that one. I will still add a test for the issue, thanks fro reporting it! (

[JIRA] (HHH-16871) Queries returning null values for related entities depending on 'max_fetch_depth'

https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-16871?atlOrigin=eyJpIjoiY2RhNj...
) Change By: Philip Lowney (
https://hibernate.atlassian.net/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?accountId=5c18c2f...
) We have recently upgraded to Hibernate 6.2.5.Final. After updating, we noted an issue related to the {{max_fetch_depth}} parameter - depending on the value of {{max_fetch_depth}}, entity relationships defined on fetched entities as @ManyToOne and @OneToMany were being set to * null * rather than initialised with a proxy. This appears to be a bug to us because there is no way to now distinguish between absent data and data that should be lazily loaded. A sample project together with failing tests has been created on GitHub: [

) Allow users access to the JDBC Connection immediately after acquisition and immediately before release. E.g. interface JdbcConnectionObserver { void connectionAcquired(Connection connection); void connectionReleasing(Connection connection); } This could get dicey with “aggressive release” and JTA environments in terms of potentially excessive calls. [JIRA] (HHH-16485) Insert ordering doesn't consider root entity names

) Re: Insert ordering doesn't consider root entity names (

) With the entity below, we have the warning with a batch of 52 {{EntityCC}}in the insertion list (only these 52 objects in the list), with a unique parent{{EntityCC}}object in the update list (alone in the update list)… public class EntityCC { @Id private Long id; @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "entity_cc_parent_id") private EntityCC parent; } So not sure the warning is relevent here… (

) Right, good idea. Clearly this was meant as an internal assertion, but we’ve seen it occasionally pops-up to end users under specific threading mistakes even with ORM core. (

[JIRA] (HHH-16858) Can't compare test expression of type [BasicSqmPathSource(type : Enum)] with element of type [basicType@5(java.lang.Integer,4)]

https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-16858?atlOrigin=eyJpIjoiOGRjYz...
) Thank you for taking care of the problem so quickly. I will check in a timely manner if their fix helps. You are right, the comparison with integer literal or string literal is not good. In the case of integer literals, a high source of error, but also useful in some cases. I look forward to upcoming changes like the ones you mentioned in your comment, if they are coming. In this case, it was the different behavior of Hibernate related to enum and enum as generic types that confused me. (

) Change By: Davide D'Alto (
https://hibernate.atlassian.net/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?accountId=557058%...
) When something is wrong with the way the session is used (in a non thread-safe way I think), the following exception is thrown: {code:none}java.lang.IllegalStateException: Illegal pop() with non-matching JdbcValuesSourceProcessingState{code} This is puzzling for users, can we change it to something more user friendly? The error is thrown by [
LocalContexts#deregister|https://github.com/hibernate/hibernate-orm/blob/...
] It might also be helpful to have an error code for this message. It makes it easier to search it (it can happen quite easily with Hibernate Reactive). (
