Most libraries that wrap Hibernate implement this interface which causes an upgrade "task". Technically this could be made part of the {{PersistenceContext}} contract and have no compatibility issue. Initially I had decided to not do it that way because, for example, {{StatelessSession}} handles this differently than does {{Session}}. But it is possible to account for that. And doing so means easier upgrades for said libraries.
