Still, the following should break: - install a clean eclipse europa SE edition (= without WTP) - pull in hibernate-tools beta10 from the update site, you 'll need a required dependency from the eclipse distro site too - try to add a new hibernate config and you should get the error in the screenshot. Workaround: use a clean install of europa EE edition (= with WTP) and pull a hibernate tools on top of that.

It pops up for half a second, then it's removed and the error message shown in the screenshot it shown. The errors of emf might or might not be related - though it's was a fresh workspace and I cannot tell what was causing them. If the above instructions don't allow you to reproduce this issue, I don't know what else I did differently, as I didn't do much. My goal was to auto-reverse engineer a MS access database to generate dao and pojo code with annotations. Maybe - but this is a long shot - it's because I was using the driver sun...OdbcJdbcDriver and it's using the eclipse jdk instead of the sun jdk (which should be configured). If that's the case the error message in the dialog can be improved :) Feel free to close this issue if it's unreproducible.
