I have run into the same issue and created a sample project with Arquillian test case
based off of a weld archetype.
It appears that this might be a GlassFish issue because the test ran successfully for me
on a remote AS6M5 instance.
However It gets the same error on both GF3.01 and GF3.1b24
If someone can reopen i'll attach my testcase and instructions to reproduce.
User reports that resolution is rejecting Object.class as a valid
type of a bean
