We were talking in the past about potentially storing the APM
data inside of Cassandra (plain or via H-Metrics), but what
you wrote does not look like this is it.
The aim is still to try to use Cassandra as the persistence mechanism, but you are
correct, this is not related to that.
I think the quantity of information being collected by APM is useful over a certain
timeframe, where users want to investigate current application performance and take
relevant actions. But only a subset of the information will be of interest for longer term
analyais - and this is where H-Metrics could be useful, with its ability to aggregate and
compression metrics over a long period of time.
