Yes, transform their files at build time, or as a variant of that:
If we expect the original files to be modified, is it safe to assume
that our transformation code can stay as is?
Providing a home-grown standalone.conf(.bat) is probably
the safest option here, as this one is only meant to define
env variables and is sourced by the standalone.sh/.bat files.
