[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-2633) IllegalArgumentException: Address shall not be null and broken views upon JOIN
by Michal Linhard (JIRA)

Michal Linhard updated ISPN-2633:

Attachment: serverlogs.zip
configs.zip
serverlogs.zip - logs from 16 nodes
configs.zip - config of 16 nodes
this happened when I accidentally ran my test on infiniband interface in hyperion instead of ethernet
what is really mysterious is that jgroups packets travel BACK IN TIME ! :-)

node0002 gets in node0001's view before it starts!
before you ask:
1. time in hyperion machines is really well synchronized, diff is under 1s for sure
2. I REALLY checked that there weren't multiple server instances running on the network
My crazy theory is that something was wrong with infiniband network stack buffers and might have gotten traffic from previous run received in next run (is something like this possible ?)
cause this only happened when I used infiniband (by mistake, cause we don't test on infiniband right now)

What is the issue in ISPN-2624? The subject looks the same to me :)
Michal, yes, the commit https://github.com/danberindei/infinispan/commit/754b9de995221075e14bba7f... was intended to fix the IndexOutOfBoundsException.

> we're trying to obtain serverAddress for nonexistent address and NoSuchElementException is not handled properly.
> It hapens after I kill a node in a resilience test and the exception appears when querying for the node in the members cache.

[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-2008) Optimistic concurrency in REST server is not using atomic operations
by Dan Berindei (JIRA)
Dan Berindei updated ISPN-2008:
-------------------------------
Status: Resolved (was: Pull Request Sent)
Resolution: Done
> Optimistic concurrency in REST server is not using atomic operations
> --------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: ISPN-2008
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-2008
> Project: Infinispan
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Remote protocols
> Affects Versions: 5.1.4.CR1
> Reporter: Eugen Dück
> Assignee: Galder Zamarreño
> Labels: jdg, jdg6
> Fix For: 5.2.0.Beta6, 5.2.0.Final
>
>
> The REST server's optimistic currency control is not atomic. The sequence in e.g. a PUT request goes like this:
> * request.evaluatePreconditions
> * cache.put (if preconditions met)
> Which is not inside any lock (that would make it pessimistic, anyway), in other words, a race condition.
> This applies to the optimistic variants, i.e. requests carrying 'If-Match' or any of the other 'If-*' preconditions, of PUT, POST, and DELETE requests.
