> The error stems from the fact that the LegacyStoreConfiguration is used for caches that only provide the classname and not configuration. I am not certain if this is a fix solely in the server or would need some additional changes in Infinispan core. Also maybe there is some other configuration needed? If so the schema should have a requirement for the field or have it more clearly shown in exception.

> There's a hole in state transfer mechanism that can occur when a node is leaving the cluster, but it was creating the entries and was only able to replicate the data to some of the nodes.
> The problem occurs when the segment ownership of the node doesn't change after the rebalance. Since state transfer does not request state for keys in which it is already an owner, the cache could be left in a state where a key is resident < numOwners nodes. In addition, this could be any subset of the primary OR backup nodes.

> * The binary protocol is 100% identical
> 2.x can interoperate with 1.x over the wire with no problems
> * The changes to Infinispan seem pretty minimal

> ISPN-2836 added a timeout for the entire MapReduceTask, but this timeout is happening when the intermediate keys are put into the cache by the map phase. This error does not occur when the value size is 8KB or larger.

[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-3469) stateTransfer.fetchInMemoryState XSD documentation is incomplete

>
> Key: ISPN-3469
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-3469

> The XSD documentation for the {{clustering.stateTransfer.fetchInMemoryState}} setting only mentions nodes joining the cache, it doesn't mention that it also covers the redistribution of state between existing nodes when a node leaves.
> The javadoc is a bit more complete/up-to-date, but it only mentions that if disabled, a key may have less than numOwners owners - it doesn't mention that the key might be lost completely, or that some nodes may not be able to retrieve the value of the key even though there is still a copy of the key in the cluster.

[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-3530) The HotRod client should support a separate CH for each cache
by Mircea Markus (JIRA)
Mircea Markus updated ISPN-3530:

>
> Key: ISPN-3530
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-3530

> Issue Type: Feature Request

> Affects Versions: 6.0.0.Alpha4
> Reporter: Dan Berindei
> Assignee: Galder Zamarreño
> Labels: hotrod, hotrod-java-client
>
> With asymmetric clusters, each cache can have its own consistent hash, so the primary owner of a key in one cache is not necessarily the owner in all the caches. Even with a symmetric cluster, the same client may be used to access both distributed and replicated caches, and those would certainly have a different CH.
> In order to send the operations to the correct owner, the HotRod client should use a different CH for each cache.
