[Red Hat JIRA] (ISPN-12728) Add Persistent Memory to Soft Index File Store
by Will Burns (Jira)
Will Burns created ISPN-12728:
---------------------------------
Summary: Add Persistent Memory to Soft Index File Store
Key: ISPN-12728
URL: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/ISPN-12728
Project: Infinispan
Issue Type: Task
Components: Loaders and Stores
Reporter: Will Burns
Fix For: 13.0.0.Final
The SoftIndexFileStore should allow for somewhat easy integration of persistent memory to provide for faster write operations.
We can use the API from https://github.com/jhalliday/mashona to handle file creation for us seamlessly.
At this point testing is an unknown as we would need dedicated hardware or possibly a CI configuration that fakes having something like persistent memory.

[Red Hat JIRA] (ISPN-5510) Provide better Hot Rod client socket timeout and retry defaults
by Dan Berindei (Jira)
Dan Berindei reassigned ISPN-5510:
----------------------------------
Assignee: Dan Berindei (was: Galder Zamarreño)
> Provide better Hot Rod client socket timeout and retry defaults
> ---------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: ISPN-5510
> URL: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/ISPN-5510
> Project: Infinispan
> Issue Type: Enhancement
> Reporter: Galder Zamarreño
> Assignee: Dan Berindei
> Priority: Major
>
> The current defaults are:
> * Socket timeout = 60 seconds
> * Max retries = 10
> As a result of these defaults, if the server hangs an operation, it'd take 10 minutes (60 second timeout x 10 retries) for the operation to finally return an exception to the client, which is way too much.
> So, these default value should change to be more aggressive: 30 second socket timeout and 3 max retries.
