[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-10669) MurmurHash3 should have a special case for WrappedBytes
by Dan Berindei (Jira)
Dan Berindei created ISPN-10669:
-----------------------------------
Summary: MurmurHash3 should have a special case for WrappedBytes
Key: ISPN-10669
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-10669
Project: Infinispan
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Core
Affects Versions: 10.0.0.CR2
Reporter: Dan Berindei
Assignee: Dan Berindei
Fix For: 10.0.0.CR3
{{MurmurHash3.hashCode(Object)}} has a special case for {{WrappedBytesArray}}, but not for other implementations of {{WrappedBytes}} like {{ProtobufValueWrapper}}.

[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-10574) Off Heap iteration performance improvements

> Assignee: Will Burns

> When testing out some things it was found that an off heap cache with a single entry compared to an object one takes significantly longer for state transfer. Off Heap can be improved to make iteration faster and thus improve things like state transfer.
> # Off Heap entries are stored using modulus for locks. This causes iteration to not access entries sequentially as well as having to acquire the same lock many times over.
> # Off Heap should optimize code paths that can be short circuited (ie. don't create stream if size is 0)

by Will Burns (Jira)
Will Burns commented on ISPN-10666:
-----------------------------------
The cause is when using optimistic transactions as they require a custom version in the metadata. This was not read properly by eviction when ressurecting causing it to try to evict the incorrect key.

-----------------------------------
I have narrowed the cause down to when running in a transactional cache. It seems the segment that an entry mapped to during the insert is different during eviction. Have to figure out which is correct.
