We could try updating to the latest c3p0, they changed the group id to {{com.mchange}} but
otherwise it seemed to be compatible. I found a concurrency issue in c3p0 as well, so I
wouldn't be surprised if the problem was there: ISPN-3324

Looking at the [thread dump|https://gist.github.com/galderz/b81a64c557e0ab3afc7e], it
looks like the Lucene test blocked getting a pooled connection.
Workaround would be to not used use pooled connections. I don't think
[DatabaseStoredIndexTest|https://github.com/infinispan/infinispan/blob/mas...]
requires it.
We also need to see why the hold up happened. Bug in c3p0? Misconfiguration of concurrent
connections?
