I made a reproducer here ( https://github.com/ErwanLeroux/hibernate_enum_mvce ) , the test case in EntityClassNotWorkingRepositoryTest.java ( https://github.com/ErwanLeroux/hibernate_enum_mvce/blob/main/src/test/jav... ) is failling and show the exception.
