I’ve just tested your mapping with Hibernate’s latest version 6.2.0.CR4 and I get no error. Your reproducer has some unneeded dependencies which caused some weird problems. I suggest copying just the mapping classes (without lombok or spring) to the test case templates ( https://github.com/hibernate/hibernate-test-case-templates ) and trying again with the latest Hibernate version.
