Joao, there seems to be a bug in your implementation. "TOP offset + last" does
not always translate to "TOP 100 percent". Currently, your implementation covers
only the case when offset = 0.
If this solution is indeed an improvement, the percentage should be computed depending on
the value of the offset. With respect to code clarity, I personally consider the "TOP
offset + last" solution to be better than a "TOP x percent" one; but if
performance is considerably improved, this is definitely worth it.
