This method is called by JTATransactionFactory.isTransactionInProgress(). Would a solution be to have the TransactionManagerAdapter#getStatus method delegate to the TransactionAdapter#getStatus method? Also see http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?t=966463
