For the purposes of illustration I have simplified the Filter from the actual IN clause to an equality test. A similar problem was reported here https://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1007658&start=0&a... The entity in question has a number of collection properties all of which were fetched with a Fetchmode.SUBSELECT, after adding the @Filter I was only able to make the query work with a FetchMode.JOIN or SELECT. But the query seemed much slower.
