This way, I can say "Item" instead of "com.very.long.package.name.containing.Item". This shorthand would also apply equally well to the Enum, if that ends up being supported as a first class construct too (see linked issue HBX-881). Perhaps there is a way to do this in beta8 today? - but if there is it's not readily apparent.
