After doing so, we could actually stop using clob / blob}}as biggest types for {{varchar / varbinary. It might be interesting to add new SqlTypes codes e.g. MATERIALIZED_CLOB and MATERIALIZED_BLOB for which we register JdbcType}}that bind through {{setString / setBytes.
