Echo version information to the console in main()
-------------------------------------------------
Key: HHH-3781
URL:
http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3781
Project: Hibernate Core
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: core
Reporter: Chris Bredesen
Assignee: Steve Ebersole
Priority: Minor
As a convenience to users trying to understand what versions of components are in use, it
would be swell if Hibernate would echo its full version string to the console in response
to "executing" the jar. JBoss Cache for example behaves thusly:
$ java -jar jboss-cache-jdk50.jar
Version: 1.4.1.SP10
Codename: Cayenne
History: (see
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBCACHE for details)
