I don't have any symlinks in the folder path from which I do the release either.
The only thing that I might have different to you is the fact that I use zsh as shell
rather than bash. However, the updateTracker.sh file has a directory to use bash:
#!/bin/bash. I'll see if I can replicate the issue calling calling the release from a
bash shell, in case it's related to this.

In the build, I have:

./target/site/apidocs/jmxComponents.html{code}
The first html file is empty and the second contains the right data. So, something goes
wrong when building the distribution.
