Normally, that method should have existed only in the ReflectionClass implementation and users of XClass should have used downcasting, also there should have been only like 1-2 such usages, but for whatever reason I cannot remember now why it got into the XClass interface. I'll try to re-examine the option of moving it down to ReflectionClass rather than keeping it deprecated. And I'll get back today to your PR [~johnou] , after some unexpected PTO :).
