probability of a collision. The HotRod protocol won't deal with negative numbers.

Manik, hashes are 4 byte integer in the protocol, they're not variable length numbers,
so I don't see negative numbers being a problem:

I suppose I didn't explain properly. It isn't representing negative numbers that
is the problem, it is the assumption that the hash space starts from 0. And this
assumption is "hard coded" in the spec and clients are written with this in
mind.
