Branch changes in the wildfly/wildfly repo

by Brian Stansberry

FYI re a pending new branch in the wildfly/wildfly repo and a few proposed branch removals: I'm going to be pushing up an 'EE10' branch today. This is a short term topic branch that we'll use for producing 27.0.0.Alpha5, the goal for which will be EE 10 compliance. This branch is analogous to similar topic branches we've had in the past related to work on compliance with new batches of specs (e.g. MP4). Note that I expect very little activity on this branch; just a port of a couple commits from the commit a week or so ago that we've identified as the branch point. We're creating the branch so we are free to merge at will to main without having a moving target for TCK testing leading up to Alpha5. Now, the removals. Without objection I'd like to delete the following branches: - big-bang (a topic branch that was merged into main some weeks ago) - sample-pr (old work that Kabir says we can delete) - master-ignore (branch to which we used to force push to get custom CI runs. We don't do that any more) - ee-ignore (same as master-ignore) Best regards, Brian

[proposal] As an user, I want to build and push an application image from the wildfly-maven-plugin

by Jean-Frederic Mesnil

Hi, I’ve created a new proposal[1] to enhance the wildfly-maven-plugin so that it could build (and push) an application image (in addition to creating the user deployment and provisioning WildFly): https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly-proposals/pull/496 With that enhancement, the outcome of a “mvn package” command is a container image containing the application (WildFly + user deployment) ready to be deployed on any container-based cloud providers. (It still delegates to the docker binary the actual operations to build and push the image). Best regards, Jeff -- Jeff Mesnil Principal Software Engineer Red Hat http://jmesnil.net/
