[wildfly-dev][proposal] WFLY-20091 Provide distributed depoyment repository functionality
by Richard Achmatowicz
Hello All
A proposal is now available which introduces an enhanced deployment
repository implementation for Wildfly. The proposal document is here:
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly-proposals/pull/771
Brief Summary:
This proposal addresses the issue
https://issues.redhat.com/browse/WFLY-20091 and its purpose is to
provide cluster-wide module deployment information for EJB clients at
each module availability update. This feature will generally improve
discovery for EJB client applications by providing more comprehensive
information on where modules are deployed in a cluster, but is critical
for allowing the EJB client to discover module deployments behind a load
balancer when using EJB/HTTP.
People are encouraged to review the analysis document and provide any
feedback or comments on the PR.
Thanks!

[proposal] WFLY-15836 Add TLS support to JGroups TCP-based transports
by Radoslav Husar
Hi everyone,
Apologies for the delayed announcement—I forgot posting this when it
was first submitted.
A proposal is available that introduces Transport Layer Security (TLS)
support to the JGroups TCP-based transports:
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly-proposals/pull/552
Brief Summary: This proposal addresses
https://issues.redhat.com/browse/WFLY-15836 by integrating TLS support
directly into the JGroups TCP transports. This change ensures that
intra-cluster communication within a WildFly cluster can be encrypted
with TLS, which is crucial for certain production environments
requiring encryption. This mechanism effectively replaces native
JGroups functionality which would combine ASYM_ENCRYPT with AUTH
protocols.
The implementation is available at
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/pull/19373 and scheduled for WF 39
at community-level stability.
People are encouraged to review the analysis document and provide any
feedback or comments on the PR.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Rado

by Brian Stansberry
Following are my proposed dates for work on WildFly 39:
39 Beta
PRs due: Wed Dec 3
Tag and deploy: Wed Dec 10
Release: Thu Dec 11
39 Final
PRs due: Wed Jan 7
Tag and deploy: Wed Jan 14
Release: Thu Jan 15
As usual for our January release we'll have a longer period between
the Beta and Final to account for lots of people being unavailable
late in December.
These are the dates currently in https://www.wildfly.org/events/#calendar.
If you are one of the folks responsible for one of the release
deliverables and these dates are problematic, please let Darran
Lofhouse or me know.
The Zulip thread for release coordination discussions for the beta is
at https://wildfly.zulipchat.com/#narrow/channel/424923-releases/topic/WildF...
