I'm afraid, the additional check

is not done properly. I always get an exception when setting an array-property.
Given the following example code:
String[] stringArray = new String[]{"", ""};
boolean isArray = stringArray.getClass().equals( Object[].class );
isArray would return "false".
So no array would pass the check.

i am sorry - "isArray" may be a misleading name. i did not choose it very well.
what i meant:

At the very least, equals( Object[].class ) we could use isAssignableFrom as well and keep
that same basic logic. But we need better handling of primitive arrays there i think..

Yep, equals( Object[].class ) was a really bad choice here.
That is only ever going to be true if the array is literally an Object array and not any
other type of class.
This really ought to operate on the "array component type". Open a new issue if
you could please.

Did you remember to reverse to condition when trying isAssignableFrom ??
Anyway, like i said before i think checking against the array ckmpinent type is the more
accurate way to this
