Emmanuel Bernard commented on HV-2:
-----------------------------------
After a second thought, there is no real way to properly guess the date / date time format
used by the user (short / medium / long) nor the expected locale.
I'll deprecate the String support. If someone has a good idea, I'll reopen the
issue
Bug in both @Past and @Future validating Strings
------------------------------------------------
Key: HV-2
URL:
http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HV-2
Project: Hibernate Validator
Type: Bug
Components: validators
Versions: Bundle 3.2.1
Reporter: Klaus Friedel
Assignee: Emmanuel Bernard
Priority: Minor
Fix For: FIRST
Original Estimate: 10 minutes
Remaining: 10 minutes
Both PastValiadator and FutureValidator use DateFormat.getTimeInstance() to validate
Objects of type String.
As it doesn't make much sense to compare time values only, they should instead use
DateFormat.getDateInstance().
