We could offer a marker annotation for entities (and maybe package level) to mark entities
which should be excluded from validation (eg don't have any constraints). This can
reduce metadata processing time and it can also reduce the memory consumption (even if an
entity does not contain constraints it will be in the metadata cache).

Why do you need user input for that? It can speed up initialization but once computed
once, the annotation is not providing any more info than BeanDescriptor.
isBeanConstrained().
Am I missing anything?

I was thinking about the case w/ several hundreds of entities. There you could safe
initialization time and you might not even have to cache anything. Of course having a
"constant" for non constraints like you suggest in HV-589 is more important.

I wonder if a exclusion property would not be better in this case.
