Similarly, if you could possibly point me in the right direction I may just be able to fix
it. I've looked at the source included win envers and don't see any differences
between annotationconfigurationtaskwithenvers and jpaconfigurationtaskwithenvers. I guess
that means the issue is in the AuditConfiguration class. I'm looking through that now
to see what I can find.

Hello,
exactly - the annotationconfigurationtaskwithenvers and jpaconfigurationtaskwithenvers are
almost the same, so they theoretically should work. I don't have any good ideas were
to look for the bug.

When you mean awaiting test case are you looking for a sample project which displays this
error ? If so I could provide you with Eclipse project that displays this error , just let
me know? . This has become quite critical for us , so I will also spend some time trying

Hi Adam,
I think I found the problem, the root cause is that JPA & AnnotationConfiguration have
been written quite differently. In the JPA Configuration everything is done on the
createConfiguration method and a dummy doConfiguration method is overridden. In the
AnnotationConfiguration it follows the path I think as envisaged by ConfigurationTask. The
code that I changed is
protected void doConfiguration(Configuration configuration) {
super.doConfiguration(configuration);
configuration.buildMappings();
AuditConfiguration.getFor(configuration);
} in the AnnotationConfigurationTaskWithEnvers file. Now this solution is still kind
of brittle because I am mimicking the behavior of getConfiguration from the
ConfigurationTask base class. Ideally I would have liked to override getConfiguration but
cant since it is final :( .
The point of failure I assume with the Envers generation was that it was looking for the
getClassMappings which returned empty.
I have also attached a Patch for your perusal if you think this is the correct solution
to the Jira.

Thanks for your post.
I am very new to Envers, so I cannot really say if everything is going as expected. Also I
did not have time to spend much time on this. But what I can say is that after applying
the modification you proposed for AnnotationConfigurationTaskWithEnvers, I could finally
see some tables with the _AUD suffix in the generated DDL file.
Now I hope that there will be an official fix for this.

Test project to reproduce this error. Change the ant build script to point to the required
Hibernate / Hibernate Annotations jar and Envers jar. The is an eclipse generated ANT
