[~pferraro] Yes, remove, evict and remove expired all will raise event even when the entry doesn't exist. It might also include compute and other functional APIs but I haven't tested.

The cause for this is actually the fact that a removal of a non existent entry still creates an event (ie. remove, evict, expired). I am not sure if we can change that behavior at this point or not. However we can fix the NPE for sure.

I can confirm this happens when you evict an entry that isn't present and an eviction listener is present.
