[JBoss JIRA] (ISPN-10084) HotRod server AUTH requests can block
by Pedro Zapata (Jira)
Pedro Zapata created ISPN-10084:
-----------------------------------
Summary: HotRod server AUTH requests can block
Key: ISPN-10084
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-10084
Project: Infinispan
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 10.0.0.Beta3, 9.4.11.Final
Reporter: Pedro Zapata
Assignee: Tristan Tarrant
Fix For: 10.0.0.Beta4, 9.4.12.Final
The AUTH request can perform remote blocking operations to an external source, such as LDAP. This can cause a backup of netty event loop threads if the authentication takes a while and there are enough incoming concurrent connections.

> The cache `remove` method occasionally fails to return the removed value, and returns `null`.
> Observed in two node setup in invalidation mode, with a configured cache store (Redis).
> Tests reveal that about 40% of the times the method returns `null`, the remaining 60% the removed value is correctly returned.
