I'd have to look into the expectation of
java.lang.reflect.Method#getGenericReturnType in regards to a method like
the ones noted. I agree that on the surface it seems strange that the JDK
would be throwing that exception here.

If you read the stack trace, it appears that the bug is in the JDK
itself. Furthermore, it is triggered by Hibernate, not WildFly. Is
there a Hibernate JIRA opened for this issue? That is the right place
to report it; if they agree it's a JDK issue then the JDK bug tracker is
the next step, ideally followed by an OpenJDK patch.
