The hot transport right now is REST over HTTP. If we are committed to
a single public API, not only that API will get better and better over
time (because it is the only one used and published) but we can also
find ways to leverage it over other channels.
And still having a single public API does not force
us to do all *internal* Java methods calls via REST as
well.
