Hmmm.... okay.
If metrics is to be installed on top of OSE 3.1 GA ... that is interesting and useful
news. I previously thought metrics was being delivered as part of OSE 3.1 GA.
Okay, then is there a document that describes how to install metrics on top of OSE 3.1 GA?
Such a document would certainly be needed by the customers. Additionally, it will be
extrremely useful for QE as it will enable us to perhaps begin testing ...and we can make
our testcases accurate and match the customer expeience.
Regarding the docker images being built and tagged ... is there an action item there for
you or development?
Michael

Excellent, thank you for clarifying this!
May I ask: can you please document or otherwise provide information so we can
use OSE 3.1 RC1 ...and sync with the appropriate Hawk-Metrics containers
living outside of the RC1? I agree, this would allow some testing to occur
prior to RC2.
Follow-up question: is there something that needs to be done for RC2 to
complete the integration of Hawk-Metrics into OSE 3.1 RC2?
I am not sure. From my understanding metrics is meant to be installed on top of OpenShift
and not something which comes working out of the box. It actually can't be installed
out of the box since it relies on externally configured services (such as DNS resolution
for the route, and NFS or another storage system).
For OSE 3.1 RC2, the only thing I can think of would be to have the docker images built
and tagged with a specific version as well as having all the updated documentation. I am
not sure what other integration would be needed.

From the v1.0.7 release notes, it looks like metrics is already in there, at
least for the console work :
https://github.com/openshift/origin/releases/tag/v1.0.7
The only other things would be the containers, but those live outside of the
OpenShift code base (
https://github.com/openshift/origin-metrics) so it
makes things a bit tricky in terms of syncing releases. I guess we should
have built images under the openshift docker hub account and tagged them
with the v1.0.7 version.
Since the Console work is already in v1.0.7, and we have our own containers,
I can't see why we can't start testing with v1.0.7/RC1-1.1
