While the Exceptions are logged, Hibernate is allowed to startup successfully. This feature request allows for a setting to flip this behavior such that Hibernate will not start if one or more Exceptions are encountered during SchemaUpdate (in test environments, of course). Proposed configuration option is hibernate.hbm2ddl.haltOnError
