With the test I have done, I am pretty sure this is a bug: Here is the snippet of my collection: <set name="activeItems" sort="unsorted" table="SUB_ITEM" where="STATUS='ACTIVE'"> <key column="PRODUCT_ID"/> <one-to-many class="SubItem"/> </set> The column "STATUS" is part of the table ITEM and class Item. I would expect inheritance to find the column STATUS within the parent table.
