Well, I'll just give a quick status update on this. I'm working on introducing
project level template modification.
Expected to be out in 2.6.1.
But yes for now, on a immediate basis, it would be better to fork the addon.

Filipe, sorry this is not simpler right now - we are in the middle of
refactoring scaffolding to make things easier in this way, but for now I
think the only way to do this is to fork the addon and build locally. I
could be wrong, though.
