I think this is more on the side of bad.
If I read the following correctly:

They will work on a commercial graph DB and contribute to TinkerPop which is
NOT a graph db in itself - its a JDBC-like API for graph dbs + a set of tools
on top of that API.
Crap. And I was so looking forward to using it... :(
