I’ve tried to make just minimal changes to original test case, only to make it similar to other test cases. I can only guess that original problem is in a way how Quarkus is handling transactions. But that is only my guess, I do not know anything about Quarkus. This means that users can’t bind these types to native queries currently, because there we don’t know what JDBC type to use for binding/extraction. We can try to create a special JdbcType that tries to figure out details based on the PreparedStatement and ResultSet , but not sure yet how reliable that could work. This is why the latest driver throws an exception. The previous versions of the driver were assuming a timezone (UTC) for the TIMESTAMP. This was wrong and corrected through a bug fix. So the Hibernate test that is failing should be considered as a negative test and should expect the driver to throw an error.
