Right, or you can use the mvn shell plugin that forge provides as a
passthrough to the underlying maven installation (on the $PATH)

This was done using maven-embedder and Embedded git (JGit)... they are pure
java implementations, so no cross-platform issues. Also no conflicts unless
running forge embedded in something with a leaky classpath.
