How is this bundling of mvn / git supposed to work crossplatform and how do we avoid
collisions/overlap with the versions already on user install and other tooling ?

This was done using maven-embedder and Embedded git (JGit)... they are pure
java implementations, so no cross-platform issues. Also no conflicts unless
running forge embedded in something with a leaky classpath.
