It would be more files to put in category.xml files. The only
remaining issue is also that p2 repo won't look nice in installer UI
until p2/Tycho allows real "Uncategorized" items.

Yes, that and eclipse marketplace operates on features.
Thus they still have to be used no matter how much the osgi purists says otherwise ;)
