M5 spin status :: no aggregate or JBDS installers available yet; many bot and non-UI test failures, plus one inter-build compilation failure

by Nick Boldt

Since turning on the stable branch jobs, here's what's borked... https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-10349 Still trying to get a clean stable_branch aggregate build (and then JBT builds too) - last time the aggregate failed due to missing Central, OTDT, and OpenShift (hadn't spun clean yet). --- Details: - hibernate : test failure in org.hibernate.eclipse.console.test - jbpm : test failure in org.jboss.tools.jbpm.convert.test - jsf : test failure in org.jboss.tools.jsf.vpe.jsf.test - maven : 15 bot test failures (same failures in trunk) ... should these just be turned off and only run locally / manually? - struts : COMPILE FAILED - upstream bits missing? "The import org.jboss.tools.jst.web.validation cannot be resolved." --- There are also a few jobs for which the latest build failed, but at least we have one good build since branching. This suggests we're having some stability issues w/ a few Jenkins slaves, but at least we're getting clean spins when the server is quiet(er). = archives : aborted build? [Dec 4 ok] = birt : failed to find usage bits (poor timing between builds) [Dec 4 ok] = seam : no more locks failure [Dec 4 ok] -- Nick Boldt :: JBoss by Red Hat Productization Lead :: JBoss Tools & Dev Studio http://nick.divbyzero.com

Re: [jbosstools-dev] Assigning JIRAs w/ patches for review

by Denis Golovin

Sounds like something that could be implemented in JIRA as custom workflow. "Review" state should be added in JIRA workflow between "Resolved" and "Open"/"Reopened". Devs after submitting pull request moves it to "Review" (does it possible to provide link to pull request?) and assign to a reviewer. Reviewer can review changes in pull request and apply/merge them then move issue to "Resolved", if something is wrong move it to "Reopened". Not sure if we have rights in JIRA to create and assign new/custom workflow to JBossTools project. WDYT? Assigning JIRAs w/ patches for review

by Nick Boldt

Rob proposed an idea for facilitating tracking of patches for review, using the "review" label in JIRA. Here's how that would work. 1. you work on a JIRA 2. you attach a patch 3. you add the "review" label to the JIRA 4. you assign the JIRA to the correct reviewer (eg., Max, Denis, Len...) When reviewed & approved: 1. reviewer signs their approval in the JIRA 2. reviewer assigns the JIRA back to the person who attached the patch 3. review changes the label from "review" to "review_approved" 4. you then commit the change and mark the JIRA resolved, so that QE can then later mark it resolved when verified. If you'd like to see an example query with these labels, check this out: https://issues.jboss.org/secure/IssueNavigator!executeAdvanced.jspa?jqlQu... https://issues.jboss.org/secure/IssueNavigator!executeAdvanced.jspa?jqlQu... Want to query for issues assigned to YOU to review or which you've approved? Use "assignee = currentUser()" in your queries: https://issues.jboss.org/secure/IssueNavigator!executeAdvanced.jspa?jqlQu... https://issues.jboss.org/secure/IssueNavigator!executeAdvanced.jspa?jqlQu... What do you think? Good idea? Process overkill? -- Nick Boldt :: JBoss by Red Hat Productization Lead :: JBoss Tools & Dev Studio http://nick.divbyzero.com

m2e-wtp 0.16.0 has been released!

by Fred Bricon

Hello World, Eclipse m2e-wtp 0.16.0 has been released, just in time for Juno SR1. It requires an Eclipse Java EE distribution, at least m2e 1.1 (though 1.2 is recommended) and can be installed from its p2 update site [1] or the Eclipse Marketplace [2]. This 0.16.0 release, while being primarily focused on bug fixes from the former m2eclipse-wtp version, adds some new features to help you convert your Java EE Eclipse projects to Maven. You will probably want to read the New and Noteworthy [3] and changelog [4]. Please note that, Eclipse m2e-wtp and Sonatype's m2eclipse-wtp overlap and can not be installed together : * if you try to update your Eclipse installation via "Help > Install New Software...", m2e-wtp won't install because of the conflict with m2eclipse-wtp (this is a bug in p2). * if you add the m2e-wtp update site to your list of Available Update Sites, doing "Help > Find Updates" should find m2e-wtp as a suitable replacement for m2eclipse-wtp, and everything should update properly. The safest path to upgrade is to start from a clean Eclipse installation. Finally I'd like to give some kudos to the WTP team from IBM, who was really instrumental with the project migration to eclipse.org and who also provided several patches to m2e-wtp. I'm confident that, together, we'll be able to greatly improve both m2e-wtp and WTP itself. The same announcement was made on the JBoss Tools blog [5]. As usual, you can raise any issue you find in BugZilla [6]. If you find yourself willing to contribute some documentation, please knock yourself out on the wiki [7] :-) [1] http://download.eclipse.org/m2e-wtp/releases/ [2] http://marketplace.eclipse.org/node/441371 [3] http://wiki.eclipse.org/M2E-WTP/New_and_Noteworthy/0.16 [4] https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&bug_statu... Replacing Svn mirror.

by Max Andersen

Sometime tonight we'll have full Svn mirror. On GitHub. I plan to move this in to replace the current partial mirror (to save space and confusion). The only ones this will affect are those who have cloned the current repo. They would have to reclone the new complete one. Let me know if you got any objections to this. Thanks, Sent from a mobile device

Anyone object to download.jboss.org rsynch?

by Rob Stryker

Hey all: I'm trying to solve the following bug [1] and it requires changes to a file in download.jboss.org folder. For my future knowledge, what are the policies for this process? Basically, I just want to make sure that I never do an rsynch when someone else has only half-complete or not-synchable stuff in there. Can it be assumed that any code in that folder and committed to trunk is free to be rsynch'd at any time? [1] https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-12582
