Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-5418:
---------------------------------------
{quote}It should not work because of two reasons{quote}
Ok, too bad.
{quote}Now VPE uses XULRunner 1.9.2. It is very likely that JavaXPCOM API is changed in
XULRunner 1.9.3. This may lead to JVM crashes.{quote}
XulRunner 1.9.3 was never released AFAIK, so it's actually not supported by SWT. We
should rather build a XulRunner 1.9.2 from tag to prevent from issues.
Also, at leadt for Linux, the compatibility with XulRunner is very open if we refer to
http://www.eclipse.org/swt/faq.php#browserlinux
{code}
Eclipse 3.8.x/4.2.x: Mozilla 1.4 GTK2 - 1.7.x GTK2, XULRunner 1.8.x - 1.9.x, 3.6.x and
10.x (but not 2.x nor 4.x - 9.x), WebKitGTK+ 1.2.x and newer
{code}
If we have the same compatibility range for MacOSX, it means that APIs are stable enough
to link with another version that 1.9.2. I don't think we would get some linkage
issues.
{quote}For XULRunner bundles we use the same naming convention Eclipse uses for SWT
bundles{quote}
Ok, fair enough.
{quote}Anyway, I consider the support of 64-bit OS X as a feature to be implemented after
4.0.0 release (if possible).{quote}
OK. From my POV, I tend to think "the sooner the better" since it would clean a
little the parent pom.xml, but there is no emergency.
Provide xulrunner eclipse bundle for OSX cocoa x86_64

Visual Page Editor doesn't work with Eclipse 3.5 OSX Cocoa 64 bit
To get it worked we need xulrunner bundle for it.
