[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-14607) Forge Wizards Menu
by Koen Aers (JIRA)
Koen Aers commented on JBIDE-14607:
-----------------------------------
Burr, we agreed on *not* using the project/persistence/entity/field wizards because there are other/better ways to accomplish this already (such as using the jpa wizards for entities and fields and JBoss Central for the projects). I forgot to disable them for beta1 but in the meantime they are not available anymore.
The request to prompt for setup is very valid; I have already added implicit setup for scaffold and rest in the meantime.

> The Forge Wizards are currently "buried" under Command/Ctrl-N, under the JBoss Tools category, they have no icons.
> New Project
> Persistence Setup
> New Entity
> New Field
> Generate Entities
> Scaffold Setup
> Scaffold Entities
> I propose the following:
> These be pulled into a category called "JBoss Forge"and that category also be available on the right-click/context New menu for any Maven-based project.
> I normally will use either the HTML5, Java EE Web or RichFaces archetypes from JBoss Central as the starting point for a project - then add entities/scaffolding via Forge.

> Produces the main HTML5-based client-side application project, allows for build/generate the XCode and Eclipse Android Java projects as well.
> The HTML5 client project should be separated from the back-end services project by default (back-end project is Maven-based)
> * The HTML5 client project is also deployable to JBoss EAP as part of a WAR
