I use the version posted by Martin Malinas update site and the problems was not appeared anymore. Haven't tried it with previous versions because I haven't found a way to reproduce the problem reliable.

[~olpf] using beta3 ?
can you re-reproduce on previous versions ?
if you can our workaround might just have worked (And we got indication that m2e has a leak of its classloaders ;/

[JBoss JIRA] (JBIDE-17944) BrowserSim: Use http: protocol instead of file: for accessing local files
by Max Rydahl Andersen (JIRA)
Max Rydahl Andersen commented on JBIDE-17944:
---------------------------------------------
[~akazakov] can you link to such example ? and aren't these meant to be run in CordovaSim anyway ?

> Key: JBIDE-17944
> URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-17944
> Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
> Issue Type: Feature Request
> Components: browsersim
> Reporter: Alexey Kazakov
> Assignee: Konstantin Marmalyukov
>
> Currently, BrowserSim works through file: protocol but this protocol doesn't work well with paths relative to the webroot (which start with "/").
> So if a local file contains any links to local resources (css, js, ...) via relative paths then these resources are not available in BrowserSim.
> For example all official ionic example projects use such paths. It makes "open with BrowserSim" feature useless for those projects.
> It would be great if BrowserSim uses http: as our HTML5 preview does.

[~maxandersen] My work machine has 8GB of RAM but with Chrome and Outlook open, there is only about 4GB left to play with. I'm not sure why 1024m didn't work in the first place, but I may play around with it without any other applications open.
Thanks for the heads up!
