Nick Boldt commented on JBIDE-4442:
-----------------------------------
Certainly cleaner - like the headers for continuity and "where am I in this doc"
navigation. Has a smooth, tranquil feel to it now.
(...and now, while I'm pushing my luck... )
Any chance you could implement something like [1] with side-frame nav for the various
releases/sections? That might make this information more attractive and quick-dive-in
friendly.
I also notice there's JBT and JBDS in the same what's new doc. Is that
intentional? Maybe that stuff should be hosted on
docs.redhat.com like the GSG linked
above [1] ?

Improve branding/skinning of What's New / N&N pages

Key: JBIDE-4442
URL:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-4442
Project: Tools (JBoss Tools)
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Cleanup
Reporter: Nick Boldt
Assignee: Isaac Rooskov
Priority: Optional
Fix For: 3.3.0.M4
Original Estimate: 0 minutes
Remaining Estimate: 0 minutes
The N&N pages (
http://docs.jboss.org/tools/whatsnew/)are very plain.
At the very least, we could introduce some colour (as used on
www.jboss.org/tools/ or
http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/nightly/trunk/ ?) and perhaps use this
banner:
http://www.jboss.org/theme/images/banners/tools-banner.png
Beyond that, we ought to have persistent navigation for downloads, update sites,
browsing/reporting JIRAs, movies, docs, etc. so people can more easily find other useful
resources.
I'd be happy to take a crack at editing these pages if you let me know where they
live in SVN. Are they generated by template? Seam? XSLT?
