Hi,
I tried "field float --named xxxx" But that does not produce a field. int,
long work but there doesn't seem to be anything for float.

Try "field number". There are other options I can't remember right now, but
it should probably work. If not, could you please file a JIRA issue ?

If what George suggested does not work, you can use 'field custom' and
specify the float type. I think `number FLOAT` is valid, but I am not sure.
