Hey all, I've hacked a small plugin which is generating .gitignores based on the GitHub .gitignore template repo ( https://github.com/thomashug/plugin-gitignore resp. https://github.com/github/gitignore). While that was fun to write as a plugin, retrospectively it looks to me like a handy addition for the core Git tools. What do you think?
